Our business operations are located in Miami FL, Reston VA, Washington DC and throughout the National Capital region.

 

Summary of Position:

XTec, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the company’s network infrastructure, data centers and local IT networks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in network architecture, security, configuration, and operations ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability across all systems.

 

Location:

Miami, FL (In person, some travel may be required)

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network designs.
  • Design and implement secure and scalable network architectures.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Monitor network performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal speed and functionality
  • Ensure network security through firewalls, VPNs, and encryption protocols.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve network issues
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering team to integrate new technologies.
  • Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, Wi-Fi systems, proxy servers, email servers, switches, DNS and DHCP.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Document network configurations, maintain fallback scenarios and procedures.
  • Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems
  • Provide technical support and training to staff.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, tools, and technologies in networking engineering.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications CompTIA Network +, CompTIA Security +, CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP preferred.
  • Proven experience in network design, administration and architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud networking.
  • Expertise in network security, system upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred

Clearance

  • The ability to obtain a security clearance from DOD.
