The XTec Reader Line: highly secure, easy to implement, easily maintained

The XTec Access Control Reader line can read, decode and interact with all types of tokens and cards. Your enterprise can utilize any card or token without sacrificing security or interoperability. The core of this technology is the low cost, tamper-resistant Mediametric® Universal Secure Authentication and Application Module (USAAM)—built-in to every model in the XTec Reader line. These readers provide the highest level of security in the marketplace.

A Mediametric® USAAM equipped reader provides a practical way to securely and independently handle token authentication using multiple system keys and can readily accept interaction from different tokens and legacy back-end host systems. Any enterprise can utilize one or more of the various models of USAAM-equipped XTec card readers without violating security or privacy.

Any XTec device—whether online or offline—can be easily and instantaneously reconfigured to accommodate new applications, operating parameters, security keys, access rights, or polled to provide critical data.

The entire XTec Reader line is inherently secure, whether integrated with the AuthentX™ System or an existing legacy system. They all have the built-in capability to support many card authentication methods: smart cards, personal identification numbers (PINs), and/or photographic or fingerprint biometric templates for personal identity authentication. Card authentication using cryptographic challenge/response is an integral part of every XTec Reader.

Utilizing state-of-the-art card authentication methods each credential can be positively verified. In union with authentication of the data it ensures that the biometric templates stored on the credential (either photograph or fingerprint) can be trusted. XTec makes the transition from old to new technology transparent.

Cost-effective, secure Mediametric® memory chip cards can be used as highly secured interaction tokens to safely store massive amounts of compartmentalized data. They can be combined with inexpensive, fully secure Mediametric® magnetic cards (featuring our patented Magnetic Fingerprint® technology) and Mediametric® smart cards to create and deploy integrated and interoperable systems from the most complex applications, requiring digital signature components, to the simplest access control system.

There is no limitation, nor is there a need to migrate to only high priced tokens to achieve better and more diverse customer interaction.
